THE SHEILDS OF HIS SOLDIERS ARE RED; the warriors are clad in scarlet. The metal of the chariots flashes on the day they are made ready; the spears of pine are brandished .Nahum 2:3 (NIV)

Things are going well at home. We have been busy learning how to be a family again. I have been busy with work and school. For those that dont know I have been working at a detox centre and a contact centre. The detox is for people who are trying to stop using drugs. It is the starting point. The contact centre is for people who are still on drugs and need services and or referals. The detox is very medical and the contact centre is just plain crazy. I thought I would share some funny stories from the contact centre. As you could quite imagine a centre for drug users would be quite chaotic. And of course it usually erupts all at once. Like one night at closing a guy thought a girl had stolen his sleeping bag and so he attacked her to get his bag back. I was at the other end of the centre handing out breakfast bags. I turned to look at the squable and a guy behind me climbed up onto the counter between me and him. He was coming at me to steal more breakfasts. I turned to look behind me and saw this guy on the counter. I braced myself and yelled GET DOWN NOW and he simply responded okay and got down. It was quite a weird experience. The funny one was the other day I was behind the desk and heard a lot of laughter going on and yelling so I stood up and looked and there was a couple playing strip pocker at a table and had half their clothes off. I had to tell them to put their clothes back and when I turned to look at the back of the centre the needle exchange was on fire. Someone had decided to cook their dugs at the needle exchange. We put out the fire and sent the people on their way. You really need to just role with the punches and have a great ability to see humour in the strange. Also I have to work a needle exchange and keep it stocked. So I bundle rigs (needles) in bundles of 10. I stock tie bands, cottons, and spoons. I also cut condoms into singles as they come in packages of 2. It is quite weird and funny when my christain friends have stopped by. Of course with my own history it is not so strange though. But on a prayer request note. If you remember in a few blogs back like 2 MONTHS AGO I was going to interview for a job at Harbourlight as an addiction counsellor. Well I will finally get that interview on Friday at 2pm so please pray for me. I would then have only one job and would be around more for the kids. Also it would be more in my field. So all prayer would be appreciated. I hope you enjoyed the earlier comic relief. Bless you all.

Silver trumpets that would have heralded the Coming of the Messiah have been found

Treasures looted by Rome 'are back in the Holy Land'

A COLLECTION of sacred artefacts looted by the Romans from the Temple of Jerusalem and long suspected of being hidden in the vaults of the Vatican are actually in the Holy Land, according to a British archaeologist.

NI_MPU('middle');
Sean Kingsley, a specialist in the Holy Land, claims to have discovered what became of the collection, which is widely regarded as the greatest of biblical treasures and includes silver trumpets that would have heralded the Coming of the Messiah.

The trumpets, gold candelabra and the bejewelled Table of the Divine Presence were among pieces shipped to Rome after the looting in AD70 of the Temple, the most sacred building in the ancient Jewish faith.

After a decade of research into previously untapped ancient texts and archaeological sources, Dr Kingsley has reconstructed the treasure’s route for the first time in 2,000 years to provide evidence that it left Rome in the 5th century.

He has discovered that it was taken to Carthage, Constantinople and Algeria before being hidden in the Judaean wilderness, beneath the Monastery of Theodosius.

Dr Kingsley said: “The treasure resonates fiercely across modern politics. Since the mid-1990s, a heated political wrangle has been simmering between the Vatican and Israel, which has accused the papacy of imprisoning the treasure.

“The Temple treasure remains a deadly political tool in the volatile Arab-Israeli conflict centred on the Temple Mount [the site of the Jewish Temple and the Muslim Dome of the Rock].

“The treasure’s final hiding place – in the modern West Bank . . . deep in Hamas territory – will rock world religions.”

Emperor Vespasian ordered the destruction of the Temple at Jerusalem after a Jewish revolt and Roman forces took about 50 tons of gold, silver and precious art to Rome.

The Arch of Titus, built a decade later, depicts Roman soldiers bearing the sacred spoils on their shoulders. The Jews were expelled from Jerusalem and dispersed throughout the world.

Between AD75 and the early 5th century, the treasure was on public display in the Temple of Peace in the Forum, in Rome.

The Vatican has told Dr Kingsley that there is no evidence in its archives that the treasure resided in Rome from the medieval period onwards.

He said: “One thing is for sure – it is not imprisoned deep in Vatican City. I am the first person to prove that the Temple treasures no longer languish in Rome.”

Dr Kingsley’s sources include Josephus, a 1st-century Jewish historian who sometimes exaggerated but is an authority on Roman and Jewish history. Dr Kingsley also found evidence in, among others, the works of Procopius, a court historian of the Emperor Justinian, who died in AD562, and from Theophanes Confessor (c760-817), a Christian monk from Constantinople.

In Chronographia, which spanned AD284 to 813, Theophanes recorded that Gaiseric, king of the Vandals, loaded the treasures that “Titus had brought to Rome after the capture of Jerusalem” on a boat to Carthage in Tunisia in AD455.

In the first holy crusade in AD533, the Byzantine Belisarius seized the treasure from a royal ship fleeing the Algerian harbour of Hippo Regius. It was then shipped to Constantinople, the capital of Byzantium. In the 7th century, Persians sacked Jerusalem, killing thousands of Christians, and dragging the Patriarch, Zacharias, to Persia. Dr Kingsley believes that his replacement, Modestus, spirited away the treasures to their final hiding place in AD614.

Dr Kingsley will reveal his findings in God’s Gold: The Quest for the Lost Temple Treasure of Jerusalem, to be published by John Murray on October 5.

I wanted to share some good news with you all. I received my first phone call from Ken. I was sitting on the couch and then the next thing I know I am talking to my husband on the phone. It has been 3 months since he called me. I was just commenting today that I miss how he would text me throughout the day to remind me he loved me. We chatted about how well he is doing and how he has changed even a lot since we saw him on September 2. He said he didnt want to change before because he thought he would lose himself and become some church freak. He has changed but he has totally become Ken and thats really cool. He says he is wanting to come home soon and is praying about timing. So please pray about that as well. That it is in Gods time. He has asked us to come and visit him on Oct 8 so that is so wonderful. I am so filled with joy. It really is difficult to have the one you are one with be apart from you. I can only have compassion for the many women who are at home with the kids while their husbands are away at war. I of course do not have the added worry of hoping he comes home alive. So please pray for them as well.

While you are in prayer could you also pray that I get the job my heart desires. Harbourlight is looking to hire another addictions counsellor and they have asked me to come in for an interview. If you would have asked me what job I truly wanted to do at this time this is it. This is the job and the place. So please pray for this as well. Thanx
